CFC Initiatives at FRMS:

STEAM Cohorts - A designated number of students within each grade-level utilize project-based and problem-based lessons as a primary mode of teaching and learning.

STEAM Careers Exploration & Mentorship - Teachers, staff, guidance counselor, and industry mentors partner with students and connect them to careers aligned with their unique passions and interests.

Food Forest - A collaborative and long-term project to establish a creative, flexible, outdoor learning space that highlights sustainable agriculture. The Food Forest features natural and engineered systems, including diverse gardening areas, an orchard of fruit and nut trees, composting, and irrigation. It connects the people, schools, and organizations in the community through service and learning.

Project-Based Learning Showcases - Students publicly share the culmination of interdisciplinary learning projects, which requires them to master core employability skills and gain an interdisciplinary understanding of academic content standards.

Capstone Project Pitch Day - Students develop, present, and promote original ideas and innovative solutions that address authentic needs within the community.

Theatre & Musical Production - In partnership with the Alliance Theatre and Educational Theatre Association’s (EdTA) Jumpstart Theatre program, teachers and students collaborate with professional teaching artists, learn all aspects of theatre, plan and stage an annual musical as a community engagement event.
